The problem with cotton at FL390
Cabin air is drier than the Sahara.
Flight-deck humidity runs between 5 and 15 percent. Cotton holds sweat against skin and turns cold. Synthetics go sour by hour six. Merino does neither — it moves vapour before it becomes moisture and hosts none of the bacteria that cause odour.

No static in dry air
At 10% humidity polyester generates and holds charge. Merino's absorbed moisture keeps the fibre mildly conductive, so charge dissipates instead of building against skin.

At 17.5 microns, our fleece sits in the top two percent of the Australian clip. The itch threshold for human skin is roughly 22 microns — this fibre bends against the body rather than pressing into it. That is the entire difference between wool you tolerate and wool you forget you are wearing.

Most underwear is patterned for a standing figure. We mapped the pressure points of a five-point harness and a reclined seat pan, then moved every seam off them. Flat-locked, offset, and gusseted — so nothing digs in at hour eleven.

Before you buy.
Will merino wool itch against skin?
Not at this grade. The itch response is triggered by fibres above roughly 22 microns. TRUE NORTH uses 17.5-micron fleece, which flexes against skin instead of pressing into it. If it itches, return it within 90 nights for a full refund.
How does it stay fresh?
Merino's keratin structure binds odour compounds inside the fibre rather than letting bacteria colonise the surface. We still recommend washing daily for optimal hygiene — fine merino is naturally durable and holds its softness, shape and performance wash after wash.
Will it show through a uniform?
No. The waistband is 32 mm covered elastic with a jacquard logo rather than a raised rubber band, and the side seams are offset and flat-locked. Nothing prints through fitted uniform trousers, which is the whole reason the Rotation Brief exists at 180 gsm.
Does it hold up to hotel laundry?
Yes. Machine wash cold on a wool or delicate cycle, no fabric softener, line dry. Our core-spun construction wraps merino around a Tencel-nylon filament, which roughly triples abrasion life over pure merino without changing how it feels.
